In the way that I am super into Bob Dylan, my partner Dean is into Paul McCartney. Not just Beatles Paul, but he’s a massive Wings fan. This actually works out really well for me. Because if there’s one relationship to emulate in all of Rock, it’s Paul and Linda’s. That’s a green flag for sure. As a musically mediocre artist, if my golden voiced and guitar-playing boyfriend makes it big, I can count on him to take me with him.
The curious thing is Dean and I are both Aries. We’re both passionate and a bit impatient, which is why it’s so difficult to hide presents from each other. Paul McCartney, despite having massive Aries energy, is a Gemini. You know who else is a Gemini? BOB DYLAN. Just a total aries-loving-gem household over here.
On the surface, it’s strange that these two would have the same sign, as their personalities and attitudes are pretty different. If anything, Dylan and Harrison are the real power couple. If you need any fanfiction to convince you, I can direct you to the right place.
But Paul and Dylan are both hard workers, with incredibly long careers. They’re both a little mischievous, and have very specific ideas about how their songs should sound. That songwriting instinct is monumental in both of them.
Where they differ is in the other main points of their chart. Paul’s moon is Leo. Leo is the easiest sign in the zodiac for a layman to understand, IMO. You know the guy who’s always putting himself out there as the clown? Someone who sacrifices themselves for the bit? You know the girl who always goes the extra mile to impress? That’s Leo. Moon is the part of the zodiac that represents the inner life, or how the person sees themselves. As we can see in Get Back, Paul McCartney is undeniably the Main Character (or that’s what he thinks).
There’s an innocence to Leo moon. While they may be an attention whore, it’s a very genuine trait. When we’re at a party, I can always find Dean talking to someone new. I can always find him talking, period. If I don’t take him out for his attention feeding once in a while, he gets sad. I can’t blame him, he’s a Leo moon.
Where Bob and I share a compass is in our Ascendant, or rising. We’re both Sagittarius. Sagittarius, in my eyes, is the cool, understated one. I’m lucky, because Ascendant represents how others see you. And damn if Bob Dylan isn’t the freaking epitome of cool. Sag are also wayward, restless, and adventurous. Dylan is a traveler, mystically and physically. How many songs are about him running away from relationships? He probably doesn’t consider himself a leader, but people follow him anyway. That’s the attractiveness of someone who’s always thinking of the next exciting thing to do.
I’m probably the meekest, socially anxious person I know, and I get a lot of places by smiling a lot. Occasionally I’ll acquire some followers (lol, just on here, or twitter), much to my surprise. I’m mostly just seeking what’s exciting, to get me to the next place. I often get the urge to completely change myself if anyone is thinking they know me too well.
McCartney is a Virgo Rising, which is a big factor in his leadership skills and success. Dylan is a Taurus moon, which is why he won’t do anything he doesn’t want to. And he doesn’t get why anyone else would! Stubborn bull.
I don’t see the harm in looking into astrology as a tool for learning about ourselves. It’s pretty cool to have an established language for the ephemeral things about our personalities and behaviors we don’t otherwise examine. And how people interpret astrology reveals a lot about themselves. Did I give one criticism to my own signs like I did the others? Anyway, yeah I’m totally on the same life path as Bob Dylan. Just wait when I do my book of abstract stream-of-consciousness poetry, Ta-Ram-Tula.
Nice Rebecca. You did forget to mention the wonderful sense of humor both you and Bob share. 👏👏👏👏
What a fun, smart read! It made me smile a lot.
